Talking while walking up stairs - an observation.

My workplace is on the 3rd floor and I usually take a brisk walk or a light jog up the stairs to my office. However, when I have company, we chat and take a leisurely stroll up the stairs. I find that when I briskly walk up the stairs I am never breathless, while if I chat up or talk while strolling up stairs I do feel breathless. I have noticed this with other people too. Have you ever felt this way. It's probably because you can't breathe regularly and well when you're talking, while you control your breathing well when you walk without talking!

I have a three-storeyed house and there is no lift, and I don't even see a need for the same. We live on all floors and my day is full of ups and downs as I walk and run over the stairs. As I am habitual of these stairs and making 20-25 up and down visits are common, so I don't get tired easily but If I am stressed out and already tired because of some other activity then that's a different story. I feel breathless but it's mainly because of the pollution around us.

@LisaLevesque you need to come to indian cities to see how polluted the air is. I've been to new York. Yes, it's definitely more polluted than some other us cities.

We'll, maybe a little exercise and you'll be able to do it without becoming breathless.

It does have to do with breathing while you are talking but the fact that you are aware of it means you can correct it.

I don't think I'll be able to stop talking.
