Little things matter

The small package sitting nicely on my desk greeted me this morning. A note was on it but I resisted to take a peek not until I got home. I can manage temptations like that. Lol
Then the moment of truth. It was from a friend in the Philippines. Like a child opening her Christmas present, I ripped the box open. And tada! Inside were goodies from home! Dried mangoes and other snacks, my favorite pancit canton brand, smelly but equally delicious danggit (dried fish) and the star of the show, cans of corned beef which made me drool that instant. I’m a certified corned beef addict. She remembered what I like and that moved me more.
Maybe others will say it’s easy to buy these stuff online. But surely there’s no price for the sheer joy of being remembered. Little things do matter.
Photo is mine.

That corned beef comes from the Philippines? Have not seen that brand. No "budbud" or "humba" included? :)

That was a very thoughtful package from your friend, and a gift is so much nicer than buying it yourself.

Your friend is so thoughtful! Yes, little things matter most to someone so far yet a friend took the time and effort to send it to you.

@sol_cee I love dried mangoes and mixed nuts! Not so much of the noodles. Be careful eating it, just drink lots of water afterwards.

@acelawrites yeah I heard about that and I saw an upsetting video about eating instant noodles. Terrible but what can I do? I love pancit canton. Hehe

my big brother, when he leaves back for UK, gets a baggage full of local products. to name a few: cornik, peanuts (local ly roasted), pack noodles, Purefoods corned beef [he does not like now how an imported corned beef taste], and some 'dulce mani'.
