Do you believe the global study that confirms that there is no level of safe alcohol drinking? We can forget about moderation? We can forget about drinking for our heath? That we should all abstain for optimal health?
Have you heard about that?
Will you change your habits when it comes to alcohol consumption?

It seems "health" news is always changing. I'll have to hear it from a multitude of institutions before I fully believe it. I mean one Harvard professor is now saying coconut oil is pure poison. That goes against everything they used to say.

Yes, it is! Do you have a link to the coconut poison article as I would like to hear his reasons?

@1hopefulman I'm sorry, I don't. If you search "Harvard professor says coconut oil is pure poison" it should come up.

I will have a cocktail or two when out with friends, otherwise I tend to drink fruit juice or water with a cup of coffee now and then @1hopefulman . They can't make up their minds what is healthy or not these days.

Yes, they keep changing the guidelines. However, I still think that we should drink in moderation and never drink to the point where we are drunk. That still makes sense to me.

I'm an occasional drinker and never drink too much and I will also continue to do that. Overdoing anything is it not wise.

@1hopefulman I'm sure that study has been done, hence all the people in China wearing face masks to keep from breathing the polluted air.

Well, it can create a lot of problems both Health wise, etc so it is Best that people never try it, or once they do learn to refrain from doing so to avoid many issues in the future

I still think that moderation makes sense but if they can't do that than it is best to abstain altogether. No one that I know has gotten sick from abstaining.

This reminded me of something that I asked a nutrient scientist, "What is the best diet that can keep me healthy and live to the longest life?" He answered, "The bad news is that no matter what you eat you are going to die no matter what. The good news is that somehow by choosing certain diets, you can choose the way you want to die."

Yes, no mater what we eat or don't eat we will still die. I do believe in making good choices so that we can die later and in a healthier state with less pain and suffering.

I don't think that anyone should drink a lot. It does not make any sense. Better to drink a little and enjoy life!

My daughter tried to tell me this last week but I was busy at the time, so didn't understand what the whole thing was about. Saw the headline of this again a few days ago, but again, I didn't have time to read it carefully. I am going to check your link out right now.

@1hopefulman Now you made me miss the port . I used to have some port every day, until my doctor told me to stop it! Perhaps I got bad eyesight and my tiny glass of port was not really tiny at all? .

I'm of the same opinion! At one time it was used as medicine which would tell us to consume a bit but not overdo it.
