There is officially no furniture in my front room

We had to get rid of the couch a couple of years ago because the old lady cat kept peeing on it. We said we were going to get a new one but we weren't in a big rush because we always entertain downstairs in the basement and no one really hangs out in the front room. Somehow we still haven't gotten around to getting a couch. Well, today we moved the recliner over to the owner of our usual hangout's house. It is one of those that stands you up and brings you down--for elderly people. We inherited it when my mom's best friend's mother passed away. She knew that my husband was going to have his hip replaced eventually so she gave it to us and it has been in the front room ever since. My husband LIVED in it for the first 2 weeks after his surgery--it was a total lifesaver! So we passed it on to the owner because he is having his hip replaced on Tuesday. Which is all well and good except now there is nothing in the front room except a buffet under the windows, a rug, a hutch in the corner, the TV stand against the wall, and a coffee table. It is pretty comical. I guess we are finally going to have to buy a couch.
