Cycled to Concord Airport (Buchanan Field) with my buddy today

Had a fun afternoon today. Took my 9-year-old neighbor buddy to the bicycle shop to get his bike tire fixed, and then went cycling with him. Ran into one music buddy and one softball buddy at the bike shop--introduced both to my young friend.
After that, we were off to Buchanan Field, about five miles away, where we watched planes take off and land. I taught him about "V1," V2" and "rotate," and we pretended to be airplanes taking off and landing on the "map" of the airport they have in the playground there.
We were both happy but a tad sore when we got home. Neither of us had cycled that far in awhile. But it was a satisfying afternoon. The photo is of my young buddy atop the "tower" play structure.

You must be a good role model to him. Reminds me I need to do a bit more bike riding before the weather gets too cold.

My bike rusted and the tires dry rotted. I need to buy another. Cute kid!
