What are your feelings about the death penalty?

I have been watching a series on Netflix called I am a Killer. It is riveting..and features interviews with those who were or are on Death Row for capital crimes. No surprise that prior to their sentence they were all thugs and or drug users, and primarily in Texas. However, in one case the individual was 17 and was attacked by one of the people he was robbing. One never fired a gun, but was a driver, no choir boy, and admitted to possibly instigating the shots to be fired by making a remark about the guy dissing them or something. Anyway. in my opinion, the death penalty should be reserved for the most heinous of crimes when there is no doubt. For instance, within the past few years Virginia executed a killer who killed two little girls with a hammer as part of a home invasion..if there ever was a case where it was warranted..I would say that rose to the ocassion. Some people just can not live in civilized society in my opinion. What do you think about the death penalty?

I don't know. There have been so many cases where they have convicted people and then 30+ years later the people were exonerated. At least they were still alive to then be released, ya know?

Yeah..as I said, unless absolute certainity exists..it probably shouldn't be done.

But then there's Charles Manson......Those exoneration cases were primarily due to DNA which didn't exist when the people were convicted and today everyone gets DNA test right off the bat.

Yes I agree with it in some cases. Some people are just too dangerously evil and murderous.

In the above case, I don't think taxpayers should be required to support an individual who would kill children with a hammer.

@snowy22315 Certainly not, he is not worthy of life. It is a waste of space and money.

@Courage7 Yes, and you don't want someone like that ever getting out of prison..due to a clerical error, or an escape or something.

I also agreeing that it should be done to the most heinous crime to commit. Sometimes these criminals are just not reform-able anymore and is just a menace to society. We can give chances to those criminals that commits light offenses but for those hardened ones I think we need to make an exception so we can have a much sane and peaceful community.

Yes, and you don't want to chance them getting out of jail and being a menace to society.

I could support it in some cases. If we're talking about murders and really horrible crimes, then yes, I do think it is warranted.

Yes, only if there is absolute proof..and not manufactured evidence or dubious testimony.

Some criminals are unfixable. That's why they deserve to die.
