Waving The Flag Of Surrender...

If it is not one thing then it is another. I feel like I need to be waving the flag of surrender already. We had a car alarm going off in our gated community every half an hour over night. Oddly enough, the ones who the car belongs to heard nothing. They are on another side of the community, while the units in my section, well, we were serenaded. We finally got hold of the owners and they apologized and said they would have the faulty alarm fixed. Then there was an explosion at a power station  (not sure what caused it) but our water provider is going to have a problem because that power station powered them, so by tomorrow night we might not have water. We're filling every water bottle we can. Interesting first two days of the week. How is it going with you all? Photo is mine.

I am really sorry, I hate when car alarms serenade during the night.

@bluesa Let's hope, because when it goes on all the time during the night it's a pain.

There's nothing more annoying than a car alarm blaring all night long! I hope your water comes back soon.

@bluesa The only one that doesn't hear it is the owner.

Are car alarms even necessary anymore? I feel that because they go off so often, that people have learned to just ignore them. Isn't it funny that when we all hear a car alarm go off, we don't go running to call the police because a car was broken into? No, we just ignore it. So, I wish auto manufacturers would just get rid of car alarms altogether.

That is what we were wondering by the umpteenth time it went off. My neighbour did go to investigate and realised the alarm was just faulty. The owners just slept on. @moffittjc or maybe find a way to notify the owners that the alarm is going off.

@moffittjc Agreed, Jeff, even 10 minutes of a car alarm screeching away is 10 minutes too much. Maybe she hopes it will magically stop by itself and 10 minutes later figures out that isn't quite going to happen.

@bluesa My neighbor that lives two houses down from me has a faulty car alarm that goes off everyday. Fortunately, it always happens in the late afternoon/early evening time, so it's not when everyone is sleeping. But it always takes her like 10 minutes to turn it off. What takes her so long? I know she hears it, the car is right in front of her house! Even 10 minutes is an annoyingly long time to listen to a car alarm.

Ugh. I wonder if the car owner could just not lock their car until they get the problem fixed. That's annoying. Sorry about the possible water outage. You are wise to fill all bottles that you can. Hope that it isn't out long

They eventually fixed the alarm. We ended up having dry taps for about 42 hours @FayeHazel , just relieved it is back now.

Those car alarms can get deafening after a time. They are definitely can get one's attention unless apparently your the car's owner?

Yes, they can be so very annoying and this was through the whole night. It seemed every one but the owners heard it! .

@dgobucks226 we're thinking they were sound sleepers, because my one neighbour knocked on their door that night and they never answered. Our section of the gated community was really angry. Luckily it was only the one night because they fixed it quite fast.

@bluesa I guess they were either sound sleepers or extremely lazy. That would drive me nuts!

When it rains it pours it seems. At least those things will pass as annoying as they are. Things aren’t as bleak as they’ve been here, except for thinking about the cat. Going out to lunch with a friend tomorrow.

I heard from young "expect the unexpected". I think that is what life is about. Some places have more of troubles due to lack of discipline - siva

@JESSY3236 it was irritating, they didn't hear it because their unit is quite a distance from where they are parked. Sorry about your allergies I hope you have some medication that can help.
