I Just Could Not Believe It

As I said earlier I had to talk with the social worker. She had my husband's chart. You all recall I was telling you he wants to come home. Today she had a 24 page report of all of his ailments. Steming from heart attack. stroke which he did have. I cannot name all of what she said what wrong with him. She also told me she suggest he stay there because we would not be able to care for him. A burden was lifted from me because he was constantly worrying me about coming home. I knew that I couldn't but now I have confirmation from 3 people that attended the meeting.

This lets the other people be "responsible" for the bad news. You absolutely could not do it. Hugs.

I know he'll be disappointed, but I am glad you officially have backup to communicate you cannot do it. It's just not feasible.

I´m glad that the social worker did what was right. From what you have told us, not only you could not have done it, but it would have been worse at the end for your husband.

For sure, your husband will not be very happy about this, but it looks like it is the best solution for him Wishing you that he can see that.

A relief for you and best for him to stay where he can get the care he needs. I went through the same thing with my mom and I know how you feel.

He will be disappointed but God is looking after you. Taking care of someone 24/7 is hard at my age, but you are older than me and I was afraid bringing him home would kill you.

It would have killed me for sure.

It's hard to understand sometimes. It can be a shock for a lot that all of a sudden they like a "burden" to their family. Of course, it's not like this and family will (almost) always love and do everything they are able to help. My grandfather was alone for most of his life and towards the end, he had to come to stay next to us in a caring home. It was very hard for him since he always did stuff on his own and was very active and went for long hikes every day... But after a month he made new friends, found new places to walk at and to be honest... I think it was the best year for him in a long time. And now my grandmother broke her leg and you can see how hard it is for her all of a sudden being "disable" and can't even go to the bathroom by her self. But slowly and surely she gets better. Sometimes we need to "hurt" our loved ones at the start and pushing them to treatments or a caring home. Slowly they understand that this is what good for them... I wish you and your husband a healthy life and a loving life. May everything will go smoothly.

¿Qué pasa con lo que le está sucediendo a su marido? It is sad that a family member can not take care of it, but it is better that the experts take care of it.
