This candle smells pretty amazing. It is sweet and inviting like, well, yummy warm caramel. I don't really get any hint of "salt" in the fragrance at all. This is the perfect candle to burn for fall and especially for Halloween. The big problem with it is that it produces black soot and smoke almost immediately. No matter how religiously you trim the wick and keep it away from drafts, it will start smoking after like 5-10 hours of burning. That is saying something for a candle that is supposed to burn for like 100 hours. Still, the fragrance is so alluring that I can't stop buying it each year. I just limit myself to only one and I move it from place to place in the room so the soot/smoke won't ruin the paint job too badly.

mmmm I love salted caramel, I don't suppose you can eat that candle though, heh heh. It seems like all those candles are sooty. I haven't figured out how to fix that.

All Yankee Candles produce black soot and smoke eventually but usually when they are toward their end. This one does almost immediately. The strange thing is that this isn't a new formulation. They've been selling this candle for 4-5 years now. There is no reason for them not to have fixed the issue by now.

It sounds good. What exactly does salt smell like by the way? Ha!

That sounds like the best fragrance ever and it did remind me of Fall when I heard the name!
