John Locke I spent a lot of time this weekend trying to think up some big important things to say about Labor Day and I was making some tremendous progress. As far as you know. Then, my Editor-In-Chief, Style Manual, said, "A lot of very good, very talented people have already come up with some great Labor Day quotes. Why don't you just use a few of them?" That made a lot of sense because it occurred to me, who am I to upstage people like Abe Lincoln and John Locke? I should be big about this by letting them have their moment of glory. Even though I could do a much better job. It's the very same reason I don't write songs. It would be wrong to make the whole world forget about Lennon and McCartney just because I can write better songs. So that's what I'm doing. I'm sitting back and letting others take the spotlight. I hope they inspire you to vote and protest and make your voice heard so we can stop and then reverse the current state of sad affairs we're living in where labor and everything else is concerned...even though they can't inspire you as well as I could have.
