"Don't be lazy" I keep telling myself

I am supposed to do those physiotherapy exercises to strengthen my knees. It takes just about 10 minutes which has 4 moves each. But many a time laziness takes the better of me and the day passes without those exercises I am determined now to force myself and go for them. Since I do not have pain I suppose that could be the reason. When I had that nerve pinch in my shoulder blade I went for that exercise as I had pain

I can relate with the way those things happen. I am suppose to do exercises for my left wrist, my neck and shoulders. I have a bad habit of not doing them as often as I am suppose to. I guess we both better get in gear and do our exercises.

As I was posting this discussion I had made up my mind and I did spend 10 minutes. 10 minutes is not much but as they say the mind is willing but the flesh is weak (lol)

Keep doing your exercise. It is easier now than if you wait until it hurts again.

It can really be difficult to follow an exercise regimen. I need to find a few exercises for myself. I'll pay for it later if I don't.

Physiotherapy is not just for those who have had accidents. Even the healthy lot should do it as in one's day to day activity not all muscles are used.

Prevention is better than cure. It will be more painful if you do it when you are actually having pain

My physiotherapist has trained me and I know exactly when I should do it and now is the time but as I said I have to force myself and I did exactly that this morning.

@allknowing don't do it forcefully , make up your mind that you will get better. At least after a few days you can do so

Oh yes it is such a good idea you are doing my friend. We must force ourselves

I forced it on me. I do not like to force anything but beggars are no choosers sometimes.

Having a set time helps . . . for me doing stretches in the morning before eating helps. And if possible, doing it in the evening does wonders too. I know it's so easy to not do them . . . but do it for the sake of "maintenance"!

Good advice no doubt but sometimes it falls on deaf ears

You better pick up those exercises again if you want that knee to get stronger. I understand though about not getting around to them, I hope you can get them done now without the pain

But do you listen to yourself?

I can relate to what you are saying. I am suffering from Slip Disc and Doc has suggested me physiotherapy sessions along with exercise 4 times a day. It is hardly a 2-minute exercise and I always find telling myself that I'll do it later. To get myself up, I have to remind myself of the pain I went through when I initially had the problem and that becomes the driving force for my exercise.

You hit the nail on the head. Pain is the driving force. When it is absent our will disappears (lol)
