Forwarded messages on whatsapp.

Whatsapp messenger has become an integral part of smart phone users. Many of us have downloaded it on our smart phones. It has some good and useful features, however, problem arises when people misuse its text sending facility. Many of the whatsapp users, simply forward a message (sometimes without any authentication) to others, causing lots of problems. Some of the users simply forward 'Good morning' and 'Good day' messages to everyone on their contact list, on daily basis, without blinking an eye. I usually do not forward 'Good morning' and 'Good day' messages to my known to persons/ friends. However, I receive lots of such messages on daily basis, which I ultimately delete (sometimes without reading). Are you the one who mindlessly forward the whatsapp messages to others on a routine basis with the thought - what is wrong in wishing good morning etc. to others? Image courtesy - Google

It is good that you are away from smartphone, so whatsapp won't affect you.

@LadyDuck Yes, it is correct that it is available on PC also but it would work only when you have installed it on your mobile/smart phone. One need to link his smart phone with PC, if he wants to operate whatsapp on PC.

Phone and I parted our ways citing irreconcilable differences. So, WhatsApp is not even my problem.

It is interesting to hear that you operate your smartphone without internet/data connectivity. A smart phone has little use, if one does not use internet on it. One is deprived of many useful application, which operate through internet.

@dpk262006 I've received texts and phone calls from my father and brother several times with no data or internet connection. I'm not a technician so can't explain how exactly that works

@dpk262006 Yes I have this phone only because the company that I have now has only smartphones and does not carry the old phones that are not smart anymore. It is hard to find a simple call and text only phone now so I had no choice. I do not need to be online for my phone operation.

@dpk262006 Thanks, if there is something less important I'd like people to see I use the "satus" feature. That way people can decide whether they want to check it out or not.

I really hate when people forward me a good morning message daily. I never open the pictures because otherwise everyday it would take my 2hours and I can't waste my 2hrs for useless messages. But because of this, I even sometimes miss the urgent msgs too, which these IMs are actually meant for.

Exactly my point. Many acquaintances mindlessly forward 'Good morning' messages with pictures/quotes everyday. It wastes lots of our time in checking such messages, if we get tempted to open it. I do not open such messages usually, as these kinds of messages do not serve any purpose. While checking your whatsapp, you should scroll carefully, if there is any text message, worth importance or urgency.

I use Line Lite, a less bulky version of the Line Messenger app and fewer creepers. I downloaded Whatsapp once and literally the second I had it set up, some guy is trying to add me. Idk about anyone else but that comes across to me as a bit odd. Looked like one of those dudes they talk about on the "nice guys" Reddit. Nope. I still get non stop spam from Whatsapp despite having uninstalled their app ages ago

Line messenger is one of the messengers for communicating on smart phone. It helps only when our friends/relatives have Line messenger installed on their phones. It looks strange to know that when you downloaded whatsapp, someone unknown to you tried to message you or add you. The one who is not in your contact list or the one who does not have your number cannot add you. Even if someone does, you have the option to 'block' him/her. How could you get spam from whatsapp, when it is no longer available on your mobile?

@cupkitties Yes, here also phone numbers which are not in use for quite a long time, are recycled. It is okay to block someone, who bothers you unnecessarily.

@dpk262006 Email spam. In the US it is very common for phone numbers to be recycled. So perhaps he knew the numbers old owner. Idk People don't typically change their numbers willy-nilly though. For all, I know this dude was one of the reasons he/she changed the number. I did block him. I use some gaming sites and many of the gamers communicate through Line app. Of course they have Discord app now but many have already gotten used to Line

We don't use whasapp. We use at the office viber and telegram. For relatives and friends, we use Messenger. We only use it when we are to greet a Happy birthday or to forward a nice qoute or reading about health. Or if we want to ask something from the relative or friend.

@dpk262006 Actually, we use messenger a lot, because I have alot of group chats. I have a group chat with my sisters, for all my HS batchmates , for those HS batchmates only based here in Legazpi city, for the estates of our clan in our father side and a lot more.

I hate that kind of mindless forwards, so I have sent messages to those who do it, to take me of their list. Its worked well for me. I may have made one person angry but its better than losing my mind over that person every day.

You did the right thing. But here in my case if I send a message to my known to person that s/he should not forward messages to me, s/he might feel very offended. Here some people take it to their heart, if they are asked not to forward messages.
