Hallelu, my Internet is fixed. I can go everywhere again! The problem was in the modem configuration, which had somehow randomly changed my username and password. He said sometimes this just happens when you reset it. but he couldn't really tell why. . I hope I am never so unlucky as to have this happen again. I could never have figured this out myself. Anyway, I gave him cookies and there was no charge.

I know, he said it happens rarely, sometimes kernels of information are picked up by the modem when you reset it. It's not likely to ever happen again.

@LadyDuck he said it was a fluke but he's seen it before. Looked to me like it picked up somebody else's ATT SSId, password shows as asterisks so you can't tell what it was.

@CinnamonGrl Wow! A tech that listened. I hope you marked that on a calendar. Those are hard to come by.

I've been lucky up till now. 22 years online and this is the first time I needed tech help.

Almost two weeks off ATT because I didn't call them right away. I used an xfinity hotspot for awhile. Finally I called ATT, just couldn't figure out how to fix it myself. I've always been able to figure things out because it was never anything this weird before. But had to give up and call.

I never would have got it done over the phone, they want you to troubleshoot with a person on the phone, but that was ridiculous. I had to hang up and call back and say send me a tech.

Oi. I was grateful that I had other things to do when my computer stopped working, but I still missed being online !
