Depression

Sometimes I feel very sad. I have clinical depression for a long time now. I have panic attacs sometimes and anxiety disorder. That is the worse. When I am having these attacks, I feel like nothing makes sense, that life is not worth living and most of all that I wish it could end. I feel like I do not want to do anything, I do not want to feel, to think , to be here in this moment, i do not see any happyness or a good thing in life. If you have the same or you have ever feel this way, what do you do to cope with it while it lasts? Luckily to me it only lasts some hours, and maximal one day and then again i feel more normal and understand that I want to do some stuff but it is hard sometimes due to my depression. What do you do when you feel like that?

If I feel depressed, it often helps to see to give my digestion good bacteria - Lactic Acid Bacteria - as our digestion and brain is closely connected. One can buy fermented juice, like A.Vogel´s or others in a health store or Sauerkraut with live bacteria. I buy Acidophilus Plus from Neolife.com - it has 5 good bacteria - it helped me when I had a bad resistent bacteria after I was given antibiotics after an operation. I hope this helps.. Also Dr Mercola can give good advice

@dahliagyll I guess you know Doktor Vogel. He was in Switzerland and was well known in Sweden. I was listening to him when he had a talk in Stockholm, Sweden. He invented many great juices that are available in many European countries and he used lactic acid bacteria so they could last a long time. They must be available in health stores in Austria and Germany. You can find Neolife - just go to Gnld.com and find the site in German - they have info about Acidophilus Plus - maybe you have a distributor near you. You can also ask in pharmacies and ordinary food stores. We have the good bacteria here in fruit drinks at least in two stores - they are called Proviva. You can ask for products with "Milchsäurebakterien" = Lactic Acid Bacteria in English. Also good yogurts often have these bacteria.

thanks a lot for your advice. I watch way too much tv though, that is why when I am having a panic attack I try not to, because it makes me even worse, but when I am just sad it is actually good watching something funny.

@dahliagyll One has to try different things and see what works as we are all different. Have you tried medications?

Those are scary feelings for sure. They are also very real. I have experienced similar feelings. It's not uncommon. Something that has helped me very much is Bible reading. I have found so much comfort from God's Word. Spending quality time with the scriptures helps me cope with the anxieties of life.

@dahliagyll That's one thing great about our loving Creator: He created us with free will. We're not robots, we can make choices. I hope your choices work well for you. As for my cat; thank you for noticing. She is one of my many beauties. She is a real sweet heart. That's another wonderful thing about our Creator: His beautiful creation.

thanks so much for your kind reply. I am agnostic, but I have been raised as a christian, nevertheless I never really found much comfort on jesus or the Bible, but I do take some advices from Budism though. I think it is a good idea to read something that gives you some spiritual hope, something that goes beyond our small understanding of life and the world. thanks again, and I love your profile picture with the cat.

Everybody has a special interest in something. For a mother,a glance of her child will carry away all the depression.. For me, listening to my favourite singer's song or learning something helps me to overcome depression. There will be something like that for you too I guess....

thanks a lot Anaya for your reply. You are right, I guess for mothers , may be a way to cope, to know they have to be strong for their kids. I sometimes feel better when I read or learn about something like you, but at the moment when I am experiencing the panic attack or the deep sadness is very hard to concentrate or even to be able to take a book or something. Thanks a lot for your advice again!

Depression to me is like losing my life. I just have so much anger and sadness in my heart. My chest starts a fire thats hard to put out , throw more flame and it bursts as if I had thrown gas at it. When im alone I feel as if no one was in this world just me, my conscience starts to eat me up. I feel as if im trapped inside my own mind just darkness. When someone tell me no or if I had done something so little. I feel like its the end of the world non stop crying and screaming. I have to punch on things or either smoke it away. I been diagnose with PTSD which causes everything to be more worst that what it is. It may not seem like its alot to another because they dont have the feelings you have everyonw is different. You have to find a hobby that you like to better the situation.

I feel you. I do not hav PTSD but I feel so identified with what you described. When i am alone I also feel like if i was alone in this world, with nothing but my dark feelings and thoughts and I wish it could just end, that my mind left me alone. I have been to clinics, to doctors, take medication, do exercise regularly, and all that may actually help so that i dont feel even worse, but it does not cure it. I feel really lonely in my life, even sometimes when im with people or my friends I get these feelings and it is so hard to go on interacting and being normal. I feel like life is just too hard, it is like a game i never wanted to play and I am doing horrible at it.For the rest of people it may look like I am just fine and doing what I am supposed to do, like working sometimes (although i quit my jobs regularly due to this)buy mp pme can actually feel what I feel. Life seems way easier for people who do not have mental illness, I know i should be grateful that i have help and a house and food , i do know that i am priviled in a lot of ways, and i complain a lot but this is how it is. thanks for your words and i really wish you can start feeling better, as i see you are easy with words, maybe writing would be good for you , if you like it, for me it is sometimes. I like to write sometimes., and yes I need to find some hobby, have a nice day

I have the same problems. I take medication. It's not much you can do. I tried many things, but nothing works. I have to accept my panic attacks.

yes, maybe by accepting them and living them it can actually gets better,I have heard that meditation helps, at the time I am experiencing less anxiety and also taking medication, I have found that helps a bit writing down why is worth living when you are feeling ok and then remember to read it once you are feeling bad...
