One thing that always helped my sore throats as a child was drinking lemon juice through a pepperment stick. I know it sounds funny but it always worked.

Ya, the popular choice so far is a salt swish, but it's yucky.
I usually drink tea and munch on freezies. If you don't have freezies, than make orange juice and water ice cubes.
Outside of that, I prefer Halls rather than the throat candies. Even though Halls is for coughs, it works great for my sore throat.

Home remedy tips:
1)Make fenugreek tea and gargle with it. In 6 cups of water, add 2 tbsp fenugreek leaves. Gargle with it 3-4 times in a day.
2)Take 1-2 cloves of garlic and 2-3 cloves and make a paste. Mix with 1 cup of honey. Drink 1 tsp about 3 times in a day.
3)In 1 cup of warm milk, add a pinch of turmeric powder. Drink the milk before going to bed.
4)Take 1 whole onion and boil it with some water. Thereafter, mash it and add some butter, salt and pepper to it. Now eat this mixture.

There is a lot you could do. I recommend Buckley's...it does work...also cough lozenges are good. You should drink a lot of liquids and hot tea...preferrably with honey or lemon. It sounds like you are getting something...a cold=flu etc....eat some garlic...that really helps too...
