Did you have fun with your parents when you were growing up?

I was lucky to have fun parents. They didn't have much money but they did their best with us. My sister and I had so much fun riding down the big hill on our street. We lived at the bottom of the hill and it was a long, steep hill to climb with our sleds in deep snow.
After climbing the steep hill with our sleds, we looked forward to the ride down and racing each other. I was lucky as the hill was at the very top of my street so I could see how many kids were out there as they came flying past our house.
One funny thing that stood out until this day is the fact of a guy I went to school with tried to pick up my mother as he was flying past her on his sled. She had on all the winter clothes, a heavy jacket, gloves a hat and a scarf that covered her mouth. No one could see who the person was and the guys took advantage of that.
When the boy "hit" on my mother, she took off her scarf and said do you know Nancy. After he said yes, she said to him, I am her mother. Boy did he speed up his ride down the hill.
I had a lot of fun with them. I was very lucky and miss them so much but these great memories live on with me forever.

I had the most awesome parents a kid could ask for. They were very loving, very supportive, and very fun to be around. We were dirt poor and had barely any money to our name, but I never knew it. They provided such a wonderful life for my brother and I. We always did fun things together as a family...Disney World, fishing, camping, driving around looking at Christmas lights, etc. We always went to the swimming pool or beach together and had a blast.
My father always had a great sense of humor. He was always the disciplinarian in the family, but he always had a way to smooth over the pain of any punishment he dished out. One time, when I was about 12, I broke into a neighbor's house and popped their waterbed. Of course I got caught. After my dad whooped me good, he came into my room about an hour later and said to me, "Your mom and I were thinking about getting a waterbed. Before you made a dumba** decision to pop the neighbor's bed, did you at least lie down in it? Was it comfortable?" He said it which the straightest face, and yet I couldn't help but bust out laughing, which of course made him bust out laughing too. That's how I knew everything was going to be okay, even though I was grounded for a month.

Yeah, im so lucky to have my mom.. all my good memories back on my childhood days was because of her. I have 3 siblings, and looking back on those days, my mom did an amazing job because she raised us alone.. having her on our side while we're growing up is such a wonderful memories. Now, me and my siblings have our own family now, we make sure Mom won't feel alone

It just proves that money doesn't conquer everything. My bonding time with my family was more than any money could do. I had a very wealthy girlfriend and she was never outside playing with the rest of us and neither were her parents.
