What is on my mind at this time. How good is your grammar ?
When I was much younger it was terrible.Today much better but still learning.
Grammar is hard for me to take. But when I was in the services with all the men and noticed that no grammar is the same.I found this interesting coming from different part of the state. We all do not have perfect grammar.
how good is yours.Photo is mine.My Guatemala hats that I purchased while there.Pretty neat.

I think I have fairly good grammar even though I have a tendency to use slang at times.
Love your hats!!

I like to think mine is good but spelling and grammar checks on my text with my computer prove me wrong many times.

@arthurchappell You are one of the better writers I know with the way your posts flow so well. I am not sure about comma's and all that. Never been good at that, but as far as grasping your point, which I think should be the most important point. I never have a problem and you do a good job of keeping it smart without making it too smart, if you know what I mean.

Nice colorful summer hats. Were they expensive?
I hope my grammar is not too bad and people can understand what I write.

@TheHorse You don't follow grammar rules instinctively. How should that work? It would mean that you were born with the rules already in your brain. You learnt the rules at school, by copying grown-ups who used them correctly and by reading. They are stored in your brain now and will stay there forever. This has all been researched by linguists. As a child psychologist you certainly know Jean Piaget and then Noam Chomsky, of course.
Researchers say that it is possible to learn a foreign language perfectly up to the age of twelve. After that age the slot in the brain through which grammar is absorbed so-to-speak becomes narrower and it's next to impossible to become perfect. The native language will interfere.
It's interesting to see what happens if someone knows several foreign languages. It's possible that the native language interferes but also that the foreign languages interfere with each other. English has dug itself into my brain - I started learning it at the age of eleven and have always occupied myself with it - and doesn't disturb me when I use another foreign language. When I try to construct a Turkish phrase, my Italian may wake up and interfere.

I think mine is better now that I am older. Using slang almost ruined me.

I love the pretty colors on your hats. My grammar was better when I was younger. I speak well, but my written mechanics are lacking.

Thanks.
Sometimes i think it is lack certain words. Its like, my thinking is faster than my typing that result in lack of words in my phrase. Sometimes i noticed it while rereading my discussion.

Those Guatemala hats are pretty cool. I would say that I am fairly good with my usage of Grammar in both English and Hindi. But there are times, when you are in a casual talk and you are not so conscious about your words and their usage and also about the correct articulation. You only want to communicate and let the idea reach the other one. On those occasions, I make Grammatical mistakes. But in a formal talk and writing, I thin I am more conscious. I am still in process of learning more and more. You never master a language. It is a life long learning.
