Do old women in the forest know how to de-bone a chicken?

I'm asking because I came across this old lady in a damp, dead forest. She was in front of a crackling fire and de-boning a chicken. The chicken had already been de-feathered. I wasn't paying much attention and she seemed to be a bit irritated by that. Apparently knowing how to de-bone a chicken was important to my survival. I guess she wasn't wrong since I had no idea how I had gotten there, or how I would leave.

I was never taught. My grandmother used to tell us stories about how she had to kill the chicken and prepare it. She grew up on a farm.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That would have been too easy for her.

This is a story, right? Or do you live in a strange place?

It was part of a dream I had. I suppose you could say "I live in a strange place", atleast in my dreams.

@akalinus Ah, so you wake up thinking "Now how in the world does that even make sense?" after every dream you can recall?

I remember when my grandmother showed me how to de-bone a chicken. Many moons ago.

@ScribbledAdNauseum ......I watched my mom kill a chicken with an axe when I was about five years old.

@celticeagle That had to be a bit alarming for a five year old.

I was never shown how to do so. My grandmother told us children about how she used to have to catch and kill the chickens though.

Interesting imagery. I read below that this was a dream. Curious what it might mean. Perhaps that you are craving KFC.

Nah, KFC is okay but I don't really crave it all that much. I've had chicken a lot recently. That was only the first part of the dream. The rest was no less weird.

Maybe your dream was the memory of a child/girl who lived long, long ago.

It crossed my mind that it could have been a long ago memory from a person I once was. You know that I believe in the possibility of reincarnation and past lives. The only thing is that I believe my nephew was in this dream with me. The old woman was more frail but something inside of me whispered "grandmother" when I was dreaming of it.

I think you were just hungry before bed and craved some Chicken soup ....It was the bones she wanted you to use...not the meat...lol!

Ah, well that does make sense now. Maybe I was looking around because I was looking for wild onions and carrots!
