Rainbow Vacuum

After someone from my family mistook my Rainbow-brand vacuum for "Dead" and sentenced it as "broken and useless", he/she threw the boxed Rainbow into the rubbish heap.
My hubby and I didn't know. The culprit child of ours never told us. He/she just decided to chuck the whole Rainbow vacuum into the tip in our property, hoping to hire a bin-hire man pick it up and take it to the town's rubbish tip.
Just last two weeks ago, our secondhand Miele vacuum broke. We couldn't afford to buy a new one. So, I went to search for my 27-year old Rainbow in the garage. I couldn't find it! It was gone. I remember each part of the Rainbow being wrapped in strong, clear plastic for storage.
Lo, and behold! the box with the Rainbow--bare and naked--plastic removed--had been left out in the sun and rain for almost a year!
I'm so disgusted and frustrated by their mere act of taking-things-in-their own-hands-- just because my husband, I, and the Rainbow vacuum fell under the category of "OLD and rustic".
Out of desperation, my hubby and I saved it, cleaned it, oiled it, WD40ed it, tested it.
It's good as new. It's back in service. Makers of Rainbow vacuum machines have proven credible for what they said about their product when salespeople did a demo for us in 1991.
Good promo for Rainbow ads. By the way, we never found out who threw it at the rubbish heap. I'm sure he/she felt so relieved that our old Rainbow is back to work.

Wow, I am sorry but I would have been extremely pissed off to find out that the rainbow vacuum had been thrown to the elements.
Those things are sturdy pieces of machinery.

The sales pitch was, "The materials Rainbow-makers make the vacuum systems are materials F16 aircrafts are made of." My husband just looked at each other with you're-pulling-my-leg look. I just wanted a vacuum that would clean the thick carpets on the rental house we just moved in. And our youngest (third) was newly born.
After the accidental test, I think I'm beginning to believe them.
I just researched this info a while ago.
MADE IN AMERICA!

@everwonderwhy The one my mom had bought looks just like the one in the image you have with the discussion. She had it for many many years.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Wow! Tell her about my experience. My husband cleaned the exposed body (with acetone) from the hazards of the elements. The color and body has not shown any warping and discoloration after a year's exposure. We are just so happy and grateful. My child who had abandoned it is off the hook.
