I remember when Spectrum was Time Warner, customer service was always wonderful back then and if there was an issue they usually just came out and fixed it at the electric pole line without having to bug me.
Well, late on Friday night I whistled for Ally to come in the house but she didn't respond so I went looking for her. When I went around back I saw she was watching some kritter in the empty lot next door so I walked over to her an that's when I spotted the internet cable line hanging down as far as my arm pits.
I immediately called spectrum to have them come out to reattach it to the telephone pole. They said they would send someone out in the morning and would call me when they were heading this way. I didn't think much of it but on saturday afternoon (yesterday) I noticed it was still hanging low so I called back and was told that because I did not respond to their call back they canceled my ticket. I was floored. No one ever needed to have me be home when they needed to fix something on that telephone pole until now.
The lineman came tonight at about 8pm and didn't even know what the issue was so I had to show him plus when he was done I had to sign for the work he did.
Does this sound like a responsible way to handle their internet cable lines that have broken loose from a telephone pole?
Oh, the picture of Flynn has nothing to do with this discussion, I just wanted to show him off.

@rebelann I think it matters where the service is at. Time Warner was not good in the area I used to live. When we moved we picked up Comcast. I know Comcast has a bad reputation a lot of places but for us it is almost perfect.

I thought so too. Next time I'll call the electric company to find out what they can tell me .... hopefully this will never happen again.

That's definitely unreasonable. They should be aware of a loss in their service when the lines are down, and you shouldn't need to sign for the work order. It should be something they need to do as part of maintaining service for their customers.

That's gotta be scary, the kid that fixed the cable on Sunday nite told me he had never known much about electric cables and such before they trained him .... that sounds kinda scary to me too, shouldn't linemen have some kind of technical training before playing with cables and such?

Yeah, it is getting worse. I would have thought they would be more concerned with safety but that too is declining.

I wanted to yell at the service gal last night but I restrained myself. I just can't believe how stupid Spectrum is.
