Day 26
Luke 8:16
Luke 8:16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed; but sets it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seems to have.
It has been shown how a single ray of light can easily be seen in a dark room.
Jesus showed people who light candles don’t hide them, but put them where they will be the most effective.
As Christians, you are the light of Jesus in a dark world. When people see you, they should see a beacon pointing them to Jesus Christ. However, not all Christians show their light, but prefer to hide it, blending in with the darkness of the world so that no one will know they are Christians.
Yet, God sees your light and will expose it. Nothing is hidden from God. He will either take your work and bring it forward so the world will see the good you do for the kingdom of God, or he will snuff out your light, and leave you at the mercy of the world to which you want to belong.
How bright is your light? Do people know you’re a Christian? Or is your light about to go out? Kindle your light in this dark world and let people see the work you do for God’s kingdom.
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (KJV)
Your work is for God’s glory not yours, so let it shine for the world to see.
Let’s pray: Father, let your light shine bright in me, so people will see you when they see me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

My light shines, but I don't make it too bright.
Matthew 6:
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

There is a huge difference between letting your light shine as a Christian to give God the glory in everything you do, and drawing attention to yourself so others will think you are someone important. That kind of light will go out, but the light drawing others to Jesus, will burn brighter and never go out.
I think your light is burning just fine. Have a blessed day.
