Have you ever watched a cat acting freaky, chasing things that are not there or jumping high in the air for no reason? Sometimes it just stares into space. You wonder what your furkid is up to. According to a website called The Meaning of Life, cats have powers to protect your home from ghosts and evil spirits, evil eye, and curses. The site says that cats have huge auras that envelop the house and family and offers them protection from these entities. They see negative energy and get rid of it. Cats also have healing powers but I will get into that in another post. Do you think cats have these powers? Does yours? http://www.songhanhphuc.org/cats-having-a-cat-protects-your-home-from-ghosts-and-evil-spirits/

I believe any animal can sense the presence of an unseen spirit or force. I also believe that cats can calm humans, but this is more to do with their purr than anything else.

@akalinus You know that they didn't purr until they mingled with humans, right?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I did not know that. Cats purr when they are happy, excited, or even upset.

I just read a study about how their purr is just the right pitch to cause healing to occur.

@akalinus I have never read about that. What I know is that cats keep the mice and rats around from their home. My cat is very entertaining and very smart and cute.

@akalinus I think a good reason to be a owner of a cat because you want to be or you love cats.

@akalinus LOL, I don't think they are all evil. Cats respond to much that goes on in the unseen world. Evil is just a small part.

@Namelesss That is true, I was forgetting about the good which outshines the bad.

I think all animals and people do. Some are more advanced than others in both the people and animal world. Jasper (my kitty) definitely has strong senses. Mostly he ignores stuff but the last two days he's interacting with whatever he senses.

What does Jasper do to show that he is interacting?

@Namelesss Don't you wish you could read his thoughts and know why he did that?

@akalinus He's been tracking something with his eyes and sort of attacking in a nervous way. He attacked a mirror last night, something he has never done. He'a an older cat (not old) mostly past his playfulness but still has a little of that. I thought at first he was high on catnip, then realized he hasn't had any and there is none around.

I just discovered that dogs are included in this. I thought it was only for cats. It is suggested that a pet helps you live longer and feel happier.

Some cats seem more perceptive than others. We had a Siamese once that was absolutely crazy.

@Courage7 If I had to define crazy, it would be that cat, Periwinkle, named for the color of his eyes.

I don't have a cat currently but I've had them throughout my life and yes I believe they has a 6th sense for some things. They are also a great comfort and there are days when I miss having a cat.

Today I want to get a cat. My place is not big enough for me and a catbox. They are not allowed to run free here and I can't see a cat on a leash. We have had cats and dogs most of our lives but not now.

I know dogs have healing abilities. However, not buying the evil spirits thing. I'll stick with what I know on that one.

@akalinus I believe in the paranormal. Here in India it is believed that cows and bulls can save us from evil spirits.A cat, especially a black one,in a dilapidated old house is considered scary. They say the presence of a black cat in such a house meanso the house is haunted.

There are a lot of superstitions about black cats. Sometimes they bring good luck. Sometimes they are unlucky. I never heard about cows and bulls chasing spirits away. How do they do that?
