Isn't it nice to eat out every once in a while ? You feel that it's a treat.
If eating our becomes a sort of a habit, that's now good, I think.
Working people are usually left with no choice but eat take out foo, which often times is not healthy.
SO, what's your take on this ?
Take out or cook at home ?
Would you rely on a slow cooker ?

@proseprity68 Fav Chinese is the hot and sour soup.
And it has to be made just right for me. Hot and spicy.
Oh yes just like the Sesame Chicken too.

@Courage7 Now you are making me hungry :-)
Hot and Sour soup is my daughter's favorite.
I do have that sometimes, depending on my mood.
As for the Sesame chicken, oh yeah, that's one of my favorite Chinese dish ;-)

Having a take out from a trusted Chinese restaurant is really good, something you can treat yourself with specially after a long day at work or at school or simply just wanting to have a break from cooking for the whole week :-)
So, what is your favorite Chinese food ?
Have you eaten some other Asian food ?

I cook from scratch at home most nights. My husband and I do go out on Wednesday nights for dinner and trivia. We also go out for lunch on most Saturdays and Sundays.
I don't use a slow cooker. I don't need to and I don't like the results. I have an Instant Pot and the results are far superior in much less time anyway.

My husband and I have been eating breakfast out on most Saturdays, his way of giving me a break for getting up early Monday thru Fridays :-)
But there are days I would rather have breakfast at home on Saturdays because there's not much to go to at this place where we are at.
Slow cooker has somehow been my best friend because I was thinking that while I am sleeping it's cooking for me :-)

@proseprity68 Slow cookers turn stuff into mush IMO. I have the time to cook food some days and, when I don't, I have my Instant Pot (electric pressure cooker) to pick up the slack.

That is really nice to know :-)
So, what do you usually make ?
Do you invite family or friends over or do you ask them to also cook with you at your place ?

I would always prefer to eat at home. Why? because I know what's in my food, how it was prepared, etc. But of course, there are times that I just eat out. You know, I am adventurous when it comes to food. I like trying out new cuisines when I have the budget.

That's interesting !
So, what cuisine have you tried so far ?! :-)
I agree with you when you said that when you cook at home you know what you put in your food and you know how you prepared it.
Nowadays there are different cases of food borne diseases like salmonella, that is really strange just the thought that it's prepared in big manufacturing places and there are those that are prepared in restaurants. Sometimes it's just scary to eat out, in spite of the fact that it's already a restaurant.
Proper food handling is very important.

Yes, I agree! It sure is cheaper to cook at home. You can eat as much as you can and when you have extra you can freeze it and eatt on days you feel like eating what you might have cooked right now :-)
What do you usually make ? :-)
What is your favorite ? :-)
