I gave my dog a bath today- what a workout!

It's common knowledge that most dogs don't like to take a bath. Mine is no different! Sophie is mostly an outside dog, an Australian Shepherd mix. She weighs about 40 lbs. It's been awhile since she had a bath. I decided to tackle the job myself today while it was really warm outside. Usually my husband does it or we do it together. The only way I can hope to bathe her is if I put the lead on her and attach it to a secure post. But when she realized what was going on, she ran around my legs and almost tripped me a few times. I got to her to calm down and obey, but only for a few minutes at a time. Then she'd jump up and try to escape again. I just kept talking to her in a calm voice. I finally accomplished the task, but sheesh, what a pain! If you have a dog, how does he/she handle bath time?
