A Neat Spider

I’m in a south central area of Canada, and my boyfriend just moved. Tonight he showed me a picture of a spider that he found outside his new house. Neither of us have ever seen one of these before. Its black, and has really long and sort of thick legs with a neat pattern on its back of yellow and white. I looked it up and learned that it’s basically a yellow garden spider, though I couldn’t find a picture that exactly matched this ones patterns. I don’t know why I feel the need to hunt down the exact species as it doesn’t really matter, but I find it fascinated. Are you a bug lover or a nature enthusiast who feels the same sometimes? I doubt I’ll find a spider expert who sees this, but how cool would that be?
