I hate houseflies. Get out of my tea cup - Dag-Nab-it !
This morning, while writing a post for Persona Paper, which, by the way is a great place to write but you will earn no money, only the respect of others who write there.
A housefly flew in our home a few weeks ago along with several of it's buddies.
The next door neighbor has some standing water I think, or perhaps we do. The City only picks up trash one day every week. So trash remains in a roll cart with a lid but that means for the other 6 days of the week, trash mounts up in the neighborhood and of course, that creates a habitat for flies.
I managed to ZAP about 6 of those bugs with a device that looks entirely like a mid-size tennis racket. The other ones tend to want to fly right in my face while I eat. I got so angry a few days ago I went all over the house with that ZAPPER raquet. I was never able to get the fly to stand still long enough to electrocute the buggar.
So I was having some Prince Of Peace OOlong tea and after half-way finishing drinking it, that stupid fly flew right inside my cup. i got up and screamed bloody murder and my wife told me to hush the heck up and I got up and poured the cup of remaining tea into the sink and cold rinsed it. I just made a second cup of UNKNOWN TEA, - a tea bag from some other country, that I was given by a friend who worked with a designer group at an international tea expose. He had brought back over 30 different packages of herbal tea from around the planet. This one however does not have a tag and I have no earthly idea what kind it is.
Before I have that tea, I will first find that elusive fly and ZAP the holy crap out of it with my bug zapper!

The best way to kill a fly if you can't kill them during the day is to wait until it gets dark. After dark, if you notice they will land on something, a lot of times they will go to the ceiling, then you can easily kill them with a fly swatter or something. I know when we lived in Florida, there were flies that came in the house all during the summer and that is how we had to kill them.

@lookatdesktop lol! It works, it doesn't have to be dark in the room. They'll stay up there even after you cut the lights on.

Thanks for the tip. I need a night-time fly-motion D-Tector, that automatically sends up a smoke screen to put those buggars to sleep permanently. ![](/Content/images/emotes/lol.gif)

@sweetashoney Hmm. Okay then, the flies do not see well in the light or they are tired of flying all day by night time I would guess.

I actually do not literally hate flies. I only do not want them in my face or in my tea. ![](/Content/images/emotes/angry.gif)

@Mavic123456 , I had to add a Wikipedia link to that tennis professional from Spain, for everyone at myLot to read to learn more about him.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigation Jump to search "Nadal" redirects here. For other people, see Nadal (surname). This name uses Spanish naming customs: the first or paternal family name is Nadal and the second or maternal family name

@db20747 Okay, I will go get me a cup and fill it with water and leave it on the dining room table over night and look at it in the morning. Plain water, no vinegar. ![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)
