He Keeps Asking But Does Not Need An Answer

I want to start a discussion, but my mind is completely blank. Okay, let me tell you about my next-door neighbour. He is an elderly gentleman.A very talkative man who is interested only in firing questions at you without giving you time to answer them. For example,he asks you,"Where are you going?" Before you try to open your mouth to answer,he hurls another question at you.And as you prepare to answer this second question, you find yourself facing a third question from his mouth. Now I have realised that he only asks ,does not want you to answer. So,now when he asks me something,I hurriedly say "Good morning ( or,good evening),uncle" and leave the place. Do you have such strange or funny characters in your neighbourhood?

@Shivram59 They make me shrink! They have loads of sarcastic comments in their piggy banks! So, I really don't enjoy them

@anya12adwi I understand. We both are on the same boat.I had such relatives too when I was a child. They used to pass sarcastic comments on me.I know how painful it is.And all of them were my elders with a "Laxmanrekha "between me and me.I was not allowed to pay back them in the same coin.

haha very funny. We have an elderly lady in our lane, she lives in ground flood and her main job is to clean the path (in her front side of house) by sweeping then wiping with a wet cloth. Her problem, if any one passes and put something (a piece of paper or anything) on their way, she started to shout and scold all the people who live in the lane. It is really annoying when she started to shout and scold in a high pitch voice. The people who reside nearby know her habit and never take any chance to do anything. But we can't do anything with the pedestrians, who passes through the lane. I understand her feeling, she is taking much time to clean the place, neglecting her old age, then watching some one making the place dirty, is not tolerable. But who is responsible to guard her place?

@Sreekala I would not blame the lady. She labours hard to keep the road and her own place clean. If she shouts at those who make it dirty,it is understandable.I don't think she's mad,but yes,she has the habit of shouting at irresponsible persons who make the road dirty. What is important is that she does not shout at those who honour her labour and don't make the road dirty.Do those who she scolds get offended?

@Shivram59 It is really annoying as she shout on high pitch. She blames neighbours as she does not know who is the culprit. One day a young lady shout her back and asked to stop the drama on daily basis. Honestly, after that incident, I haven't heard her shout.

@Shivram59 Here the word 'Amma' reflects the respect and reputation, and mostly used for saluting elderly ladies so no one get offended with that.

I have a neighbour close by that whenever we meet he just talks and talks about himself or his views and is not interested in me saying anything but listening to him. I swear his conversations never end but I have to excuse myself and go or I will never do anything. Some people are like that!

@hopefulman Such people are irritating rather than funny. They try to impose themselves on others. It is hard to put up with them.

I know some people outside my neighborhood who talk or will ask a question, and when I try to answer or anyone tries to answer, the person asking will not let me or any other speak , they talk over you, they act like they know it all. It really is frustrating.

@LeaPea2417 LOL!! So you also have one like I do.My neighbour does not claim to be knowing everything, rather he just hates to listen.Obviously he hardly finds a listener to his questions.

Me: someone is coming tomorrow to look at the air conditioner her: what, is something wrong with your window air conditioner? She does this all the time! lol

No one wants to be interrupted in the middle of their conversation. But your neighbor takes it to another level if you can't even respond. It's not a one-way conversation. more like a no-conversation.
