Work Happiness

I realized that the people you are working with has the greatest impact on how happy your day would turn out at work. Yes there is a sense of fulfillment you get if you do what you love and good at what you do. But do you get appreciated? Do you get the credit and reward for good job done monetary or otherwise. But if you are in a toxic environment, the culture is stiffening your days would be miserable. It is very important that the people around are positive, supportive, friendly. A sense of humor and laughter would be a plus. Anyhow, that's my thought for 100th Discussion Post Hope you are having a great day. Photo Credit: Pixabay

I was not able to hit the target I have last night for watching videos and now I'm starting it again hoping I will get there. When I was working in a BPO, my 4 years and a half were great, until I decided to quit on my 5th yr because I noticed I am not moving anymore while those others are moving up, becoming a team leader for only 2 years while I and others stuck on being an agent. Though we are performing well.

@yoalldudes Yes, I want to build my career as a VA. Sometimes I do a part-time task.

Despite that, those are years to be proud of. You said 4 and a half years were great. I'm happy for you. Are you working from home now?

@JustBhem I believe with your experience you can be successful in that. I also want to work from home. My work pays well now and I am afraid to leave because I don't want to regret it. I don't know if I am just imagining an online lalaland work. But I dread mornings because I know I have to go to work and I end up always absent.

That is true. Since most of the time is spent at work then you would expect that the mood you will absorb will be coming from your workplace. No matter how you wanted to shift your mood when coming home they will influence you when you come home since 8 or more hours comes from the workplace.

@yoalldudes Well if you are in that situation you should try to defuse that bad feeling and maybe before going home go to a place where you feel good. It could be a shopping mall, a store or a park or church perhaps. That way your mind will be diverted into something positive and somehow do not bring that feeling at home. Or better yet you just find a new job if that is possible.

@rsa101 I'm working on my thought process. It works up to some extent. Maybe I do need to leave which makes me feel happy and sad at the same time lol.

I'm glad I have someone who shares my sentiment. I for example am good with the salary but feels weird after going from work. I sometimes spend the weekend trying to shake off that bad feeling.

@yoalldudes Yes... if you like to get out of there it sure means that it is not a good place for work.

People in my office all want to retire early. Is it a sign?

For a tech guy no work means boring, whether company is giving much more money but if there is no happyness then its worthless to work there.

Exactly my friend. But I believe there are a lot of opportunities for online jobs for tech people. Am I right?

Congrats on that. Yes if one is not appreciated at work it does suck. But I always took pleasure in the work itself and derived satisfaction from my many clients who would praise me instead.
