Do You Leave Your Mobile Switched Off At Night ?

Imagine,it is night and you are fast asleep.Suddenly your phone rings. You don't know who the person at the other end is.You don't want to leave your bed and the phone is continuously ringing. Badly irritated you receive the call only to find that the person at the other end had dialed wrong number. What would you do next night? Would you leave your phone switched off? I never switch off my phone at night, because if the phone rings, the person at the other end may be any of my relatives or friends in trouble and they may be needing my help. What about you?Do you switch off your phone at night?

I switch it off at night unless I have set an alarm to wake me up (the phone won't switch itself on to give me the alarm). I put it on mute for calls, etc, so no other sounds disturb me. I usually wake up just before the alarm goes off anyway.

The disturbance will be so high if some one calls wrongly. I experienced the same once in the midnight. The called asked me 'who are you'. However, I do not switch off the phone. I keeps the mobile on a table after setting the alarm? I heard, it is good to keep the phone on airplane mode to avoid the radiation.

@Sreekala I can understand.Three years back someone began calling my niece at night -every night with a different sim card.I filed a FIR in the police and then it all stopped. I,too, keep my mobile on even at night. And I keep it on airplane mode, too. One night my friend's mother had a severe heart attack. As my friend, too, was bed-ridden,he called me.I further called another friend of mine and admitted the lady in hospital.Luckily she recovered.

@Shivram59 A couple of days back I got a call from someone in North India who kept insisting I tell him my location even though he knew he got the wrong number. And even after disconnecting he kept calling back. I finally told him I am in USA and he is being charged International call rates everytime he called me. The guy panicked and immediately disconnected and never called again!!!!!

@mayka123 LOL!! It happens with us,too..Recently our land phone wrangler at night. My niece received the call. The caller was someone from a neighbouring state, as he told her. He,too, was more than adamant to know our location. Finally my niece threatened him to report to the police and he quickly disconnected.Such calls are received by many persons in our town.If the receiver happens to be a girl, they try to know the receiver's location.

Most of the time I have my phone on especially at night. We had the warning scare on Oahu, was during the day yet you read, alert this is not a drill...wow! I couldn't believe it...this was when N. Korea had nuclear capabilities that could reach Hawaii. So even if the threat is gone, I like to leave it on for weather is so unpredictable and I get weather alerts, so I feel safer with my phone on. During the day I sometimes turn it off, so I can save power.

I never switch off my mobile phone at night, just to be sure (in case of emergency situations, etc). Just like last year, my uncle called me up in the middle of the night (while everyone else's asleep) to tell me that my grandmother has already passed away. She had a heart attack while having her 2nd dialysis.
