I’ve probably nearly done enough posts about goats but here is one last one of some really pretty Anglo-Nubians. This is another milking breed but they have long, pendulous ears and come in some gorgeous coat patterns. The main problem with this breed is that if they are upset about something, and even sometimes when they are not upset, they scream really loudly. One youngster at the show wasn’t happy about something and it had everyone looking trying to work out what all the noise was about. And @wolfgirl569 has just introduced me to a goat breed with even longer ears than the Anglo-Nubian. It’s the Hijazi goat. Check it out if you like goats with looonnnggg ears.

Those are gorgeous creatures. The one in the pen just behind looks like a Sannen. I spelled that wrong. We had a milk goat years ago.

You're right. It is a Saanen. Each person's goats were penned next to each other and some have more than one breed.

You'd think their ears would fall in their water troughs.

I know that breed very well. Several tried eating my hair and the ribbons in it when I was a kid. Pardon the pun!

@JudyEv Yes, wet, soggy, chewed on hair is what makes a bad hair day.

They wanted to have a go at my hair too. I was forever pulling my hair away.

You would have to wonder what the reason is. I can't think of any good ones.

I think my sister's goat was an Anglo-Nubian. He closely resembled, in coloration, the one on the ground and had long ears. She kept him as a companion for her horse when she only had the one horse. Now she has two horses, a pony, and a donkey. The goat has long since gone to the pasture above.

All animals like company. Goats are sometimes kept as companions for nervy racehorses.

Oh, I love those long ears. I just recently saw on the net that there were such things as fainting goats do you know anything about them?

Myotonic goats have a mutation and the muscles seize up if the goat is suddenly startled. Here is a Youtube clip about them. I should do a post on them one day.
