Writer's Guild Tonight

It's that time again. First Tuesday of the month, which means I waited until just now to do the writing assignment with my three words. My friend will be here in less than an hour. The meeting is starting a little early, but even I think 4 is a bit early. However, she is taking my picture for the weigh-in I did last Friday. I didn't exactly choose three easy words this time, not that I have in the past, but I had no idea what I was going to write until I applied fingers to keyboard. So, here is my offering for this month's Writer's Guild. Words – di rigueur = strictness Kibosh = put an end to Enfant terrible = terrible child My French teacher kept telling the class we needed di rigueur in everything we did. Me, I only wanted to kibosh the whole thing. I wouldn’t need French when I graduated. My mother told me I was enfant terrible because I didn’t know what I wanted when I graduated. She was right. I looked at many different careers, but none attracted me. Then I saw an advertisement for a U.N. worker. Foreign language a must. Okay, I will knuckle down and apply strictness to my studies, and stop being a terrible child, and put an end to thoughts of quitting French class. -- There you have it. What do they say, never late, but right on time? As you can see from those words, it wasn't an easy trio to come up with a story, even a hundred word story, which this one is a couple of words over. Thanks for reading.

@MsBooklover When I write the new story, I usually let you know what the words are.

The words come from a box called Word Teasers. So, I do need to use them the way they are presented. It's a good challenge.

@marguicha It helps me think outside the box, and that's a good thing.

@just4him - I think you did an excellent job using those words. At first glance, they don't seem to come together at all. Enjoy your meeting!

I always thought di rigeur meant "in fashion". Guess I was wrong.

The card said strictness. I wouldn't have known without the definition.
