It's really frustrating if your efforts go unnoticed by your boss. Instead, those suck ups even if they aren't productive really gets the attention and even the promotion. Do nice guys really finish last? What are your thoughts and maybe share some advice on how to deal with these kind of situations. Have a great day guys!!!

That's really an advantage working from home. But do you believe that nice guys finish last?

@bluestrike finishing last makes them practice more and more and that is what makes them perfect. Sooner or later hardwork always pays.

Take a time off. You deserve it for all your hard work.

You know what you can do? Suck up worse than those no good co workers do. You can do it! Be a great actor. Fool the boss into thinking that you care one iota even. Then the other lazy co workers will not be able to get ahead of you lol

Sometimes even if I annoy them, they will still try to get your attention.

Somehow even the inaction employee get the promotion especially if one is appreciative to his boss. Sweet words sometimes do the impact than action.

What I do not like is the pressure from co worker to do things their way and not following company rules. There are others that want to circumvent some rules to their favor. Like making excuses that it is urgent and I should attend to it first else. I hate being rushed. I deal with it like it does not affect me. I will do the best I could to deliver his/her needs but I will not focus on him/her and attend as much as I can.

I also hate being rushed because it will definitely affect the outcome. Thank you for your insight.

What you refer to here seems to be universal - the boss who is very ready to take the praise when things go right and issue blame when things go wrong. I sometimes reckon that they must get that way because they suffered from it when they were in junior positions themselves - they now want to get their own back on the system, which therefore becomes self-sustaining.

I get what you're saying. But what about your co-workers who gets the credit even if they did nothing? Those that know how to manipulate the system just to be promoted. Have you been in this situation, that you exerted so much effort but still your competitor gets the promotion because of being a suckup? Thanks for your insight

It's really frustrating but we can't compel the bosses if after those impressive performances, you're still far from their hearts. If you are not happy anymore and it gives you headache, better to quit or have a business of your own.
