A female Dachshund named Lady, 12, vanished five years ago in Norwich Connecticut from the home of her owners Rick and Michelle Riendeau.
The Reindeau family thought after Lady vanished she would not return since they were fearful that their dog would be rubbed out by either another animal or pass away from lack of food or drink.
However since Lady had a chip inside of her coat, the chances of recovery of reuniting with their pet who was with them since 2001 when Lady was adopted during a trip by the Reindeaus to Arizona.
An animal control officer named Donna Gremminger was able to find Lady in a parking lot in Norwich Connecticut which is 20 miles away from Brooklyn Connecticut.
The odds of a dog being reunited with an owner after a five year disappearance is a longshot against you.

That is true since dog and owner reunions in a period of five years are rare.

It is not known if someone picked up Lady and was her caretaker for a period of time even though it appears that was the case since the animal control officer found the dog in a parking lot in Norwich recently.

So happy to hear this. Animals bring so much joy into our lives. I think they sort of like us too. LOL
