My kid lack confidence

My kid 12 years old ,I used to hit him for his mathematic mistake,It is lead to him hate and scare math.But now ,I stop hit him for his mistake ,Because it worsen the problem, I'm afraid and nervious ,what can i do?!

You did the right thing by stop beating.. teach your kids maths in fun and let him develop interest by himself..
