Bad news about Alejandra´s eyes.

My friend Alejandra went to the eye doctor after he asked her to take some very special eye tests. The result is terrible. Her illness is of a degenerative kind and of the worst sort. Worse than that, both of her children (both in their forties) are those sort of people that earn money once in a while and spend it all in themselves. They both live with Alejandra and she has to maintain them. We don´t know how lucky we are until we see other people. We must learn to count our blessings. Just yesterday I discovered how much I was saving because Tania gets my pills free. Now she will get pills for Alejandra. I´m very glad

What a shame those children who take profit from their parents. They should go out and find a job and quickly.

I agree. I told Alejandra all you had told me, but it seems that in her case there´s not much they can do.

@LadyDuck It might be something different then. She has the best doctors and the best tests were done. Now she was sent to an institute where she will be taught to read with a part of her eyes (I did not quite understood that). Her problem is also that she works with her eyes. She can see people and watch TV. She has a very big computer screen and uses the biggest fonts. Still, it is difficult

@marguicha The doctors at first refused to send my mom to the hospital for those injections. Each of the Lucentis injection costs around 1,100$, but those are covered in Italy by the publish healthcare service. I suppose the doctor thought she was already too old to "waste" that money. As my brother is a doctor, he took care of the matter and he was able to bring her to the Ophthalmology Hospital to start the cure. It helped a lot, but it did not stop the process.

That's why I start my morning prayers by giving thanks, first for waking up and still being alive and healthy and secondly for what God has provided. Are her children married?

No. They are both single and living with her. But she has to provide and she cannot do it now.

@marguicha that's a scary scenario, I can almost imagine her slowly losing sight and have those kind of children. Those kid adults better start maturing now while she still has eyesight left.

@louievill The worst is that she uses her sight as her most important too. And she does not have the means to retire.

So sorry. She is so young to possibly lose her sight. It is hard when you support grown children. I hope they decide to grow up and act like responsible adults.

Besides, she needs her eyes for her work.

@marguicha It is very sad. I hope they find a way to keep her eyesight.

That is so sad. It's amazing how some children can be very selfish yet others so giving. I suppose it eventually goes back to how they were brought up.

Although part of it depends on their personalities, the upbringing plays a role too.

Not good news for your friend. Her children have no shame to live there still and not help out.

This is a tragic situation, Alejandra's eye-sight deteriorating:( Hopefully, her two children will realize their mother's need and be willing to help her, from today forward!

Hmm! Good there's your friend will be having some pills. For those grown ups, they should really grow up and start taking responsibility and stop being selfish.
