My family recently visited Russia. I was busy here and did not went to any Holiday abroad. There was mixed news from their trip. It was one week trip to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Although visit was good, but it was raining all the time there, yet there was no flood and everything was clean, no dumping in ground. I am going to ask many things about Russia and these two cities. Due to rain they did not visit all places, yet remembering trip. Something more was - Market were filled with food joints and doll shops. However Clothes and bags were not so good, expect Caps. They brought me a Cap too. Main incomfortability was - Everyone speaks Russian, very few English, so it was hard to get English guide. Another was - everything was overpriced, even a simple Ice-Cream was 450 rubles, yet it was properly frozen. I have to talk more. Anyone from Russia? Moscow and St. Petersburg? My family originates from Russia, but never got the chance to visit there myself. At least not that I remember. They always tell me I should go visit the country and learn about where I come from.

Family elders will say this, it is up to you to decide because you have to do. You may visit there, if you get exemption from Passport/Visa , then it might be better. BTW , from where in Russia your family background is?

@yugocean Honestly I am not sure. They moved quite a lot. I know that my father is not from Russia, he's from Ukraine but my mother's side of the family are Russian

@Annaelle Where do you live now? Ukraine? Or some other country? Your country is not mentioned in your profile.

Clothes there were mostly made of Fur etc, for sure such are banned in India, so no purchase anyway. Cap was ok.

It was raining. How interesting. They interviewed the late Michael Jackson about his song "Stranger in Moscow" and wanted to know what inspired him. He said he was in his hotel room in Moscow and it was raining. That affected his mood but it also inspired him to write the song.

My grandparents escaped from Russia. I'm afraid of visiting. All large cities seem very overpriced when traveling.
