Very long commute to get to a party at a restaurant

I am going to a birthday party today at a restaurant. It's my niece's birthday.
To get there I have to:
~ walk about half an hour to the train,
~ take the train to a bus,
~ then take that bus to another bus,
~ then after getting off the second bus there is about a 13 minute walk to get to the restaurant.
Total commute time about 2 hrs and 20 minutes.
Of course this all depends on traffic and whether everything comes on time...
It's a very long commute... and it sucks but I really want to go, so no choice.
Hubby is working, so he will come after work, hence why I have to get there on my own via public transportation and many transfers.
If only I had no reservations about taking an Uber...

I was just going to say to look into Uber or Lyft. It might be worth the cost just to avoid the long, complicated commute. Hubby can always take you home after the party. Most of the drivers are good and the ride is tracked the whole way. The company knows where everyone is at all times.

@lovebuglena It was just a suggestion. I wanted you to know you need not be afraid to use the ride-sharing services.

@akalinus I know. Thanks. I just can't bring myself to do it when I am alone...

I did not mind the commute. I read a book on the long bus ride (second bus). Hubby came to the party, though toward the end, so the ride back was with him.

Many many happy returns of the day to your niece. Too long journey to reach the restaurant . Getting tired. Hope you enjoy the party.

I didn't really mind the commute, minus the first bus ride, where the bus was overcrowded.

Besides my car anxiety issue I don't feel comfortable taking a cab/uber alone... Plus, it's probably not cheap. My cousin took an Uber from Jersey City into Brooklyn and it cost her close to sixty bucks. Mine would probably have been less but still way more expensive than $2.75 I spent on my public transportation commute.

Thank you! Time is flying fast. I think she already graduated junior high...
