My Fear of Public Speaking

I have been a Chemistry teacher for 6 years now. I have taught class sizes ranging from 9 students to 100. Despite this, I still have a serious phobia for speaking in public, especially speaking before a larger crowd of teachers or even students. I just don't know where this phobia comes from. Neither do I know how to deal with it effectively. I need your advice dear friends. What should I do to overcome this phobia?

I also have problems speaking in public maybe because long time I have not practice speaking infront. I think you just have to focus on your discussion and don`t think of the audience. Think that they are just someone you want to talk it out on something Good luck!

@GovindaB I got nervous but in time it just got out of my system and naturally delivers it just like talking to a friend

I have the same problem. They say exposure is the best solution. You have to practice more. If you have many friends speak to them.
