Here is an article written by Dr Mercola. I just saw a TV program about autism. The same good bacteria that can help for this disorder, can also help bipolar disorder and many more problems.
If I feel depressed, I see to get the good lactic acid bacteria, as our brain and digestion system are closely connected. My favorite is AcidophilusPlus from Neolife, with 5 good bacteria.

British neurologist Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride shares how her Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) nutritional program can help treat autism and ADHD.

This might help with the gut issues Autistic people tend to have due to stress but it isn't going to do anything for Autism itself.

Well, did you read the article? At least the good bacteria don't do any harm..

@buenavida The same could be said about a well balanced diet. It doesn't hurt but it isn't a cure.

We can also eat things that promote healthy bacteria and avoid foods that are harmful to the health of beneficial bacteria.

Yes, I think many foods have been created with natural good bacteria.. I remember my mom told me that when my brother, who was very little that time, had diarrhea, she got an advice from a nurse to give him raw grind apple. He got better very fast - hmm -an apple a day..etc etc..
