Am I a piano player or not??

So, I've played the piano since I was about 6. I'm 46 now. No. I do NOT play like a person with 40 years at it! Yes, I've put in my "ten thousand hours" (and then some), but I don't play nearly as much as I used to. What's worse is that I recently moved and my keyboard (a very nice, very expensive keyboard with 88 weighted keys and more bells and whistles than I will EVER need or use!) is still in storage. There was a time between about 18 and my late 30s where I matter-of-factly lived and observed that I never went a day without playing. It's now been four months. Blech. Yet the though of carrying that boulder up to the third floor to my one room abode overwhelms me. But this was my passion! I went to college to study music, for Pete's sake! Am I being...l...l...lazy??? Yuck. I used to believe that nothing could or should come between an artist and his/her passion. And I'm thwarted by a bad case if the "maybe tomorrow's"?? How ridiculous!

Hey Stanley. I'm 46 also. I can also play on the piano/keyboard, and musical notations. I can also do guitars. Also since a child learn to play/read piano. Then keyboard, guitar. Obviously, we are almost the same what happened to our career as a musician. I never get to my passion. I have no longer piano/keyboard to play with. I only got a guitar. But, someday tomorrow. Whatever. You know what. If I were you, I will make a space for that keyboard on my bedroom whatever it takes. Or make the good place/room at home that is best for that sweet baby to take care of it. Must have a guitar also. So, whenever you can play the keyboard you can have the guitar. Anywhere. And, the best to have jamming sessions.

Yes you are still a piano player! That's like an artist saying "i'm an aspiring artist" NO. if you're making art, you're an artist, not aspiring to be one. If you tell yourself you are something, then you are that something. Sometimes we go through mental blocks where we lack creativity, sounds like you still have it in there you just need to bring it to the surface again! If it's your passion you just need to bring it back into your life :) Have a friend help you carry it up the stairs. I hope you'll post a piano playing video or something, I'd love to hear it
