Locked out on my balcony!

It's a beautiful day today, so I decide to go out on my balcony and enjoy the sun. Since flies come into the house really easily through the balcony window/door, I close the window. I sit in my chair for a couple of minutes, going through the mail. When I'm done, I want to go back in to get my book, and I realize I can't open up the window. I pull as hard as I can, because it can sometimes be difficult to open it up, but it is definitely closed this time. After some time of pulling, I accept that I won't be able to open it up. I try to look for my phone, and see it lying about 1 meter away from me. Inside of my house. I try to look at my neighbour's balcony, and if I stretch out, I can just about see into her kitchen. I don't see her, and I don't hear her either. I see some workmen down the street, and think about yelling at them for help. I feel so ridiculous, but my boyfriend has work for 3 more hours, and after that, he has plans to golfing, so he won't be home for at least 5 more hours. I can't wait that long. After a couple of minutes of doubt, I think the workmen are about to leave, so I think to myself: it's now or never. I catch their attention and explain the situation. I ask them to go get my friend who works nearby, and make her call my boyfriend. Fortunately, it all works out. She's able to contact him, and he comes home early to rescue me! I think I was up there for about an hour, but I had absolutely nothing to do, so I was quite bored. I'm happy the workmen were able to help me, because I had yet to think of a bathroom solution...

It fell into the lock... Apparently we're not supposed to close that window when we're out alone on the balcony, because it falls into it really easily if we close the window entirely.

it must have been a time to ponder why you were locked out in your balcony. was it so hot? maybe your balcony had shades?

It was quite hot, but luckily there's this roll-out parasol type of thing I could use to stay out of the sun for the most part.
