This year I decided to take part in the Goodreads reading challenge. I set a goal for myself to read 50 books by the end of the year.
I've already read 38 books. That's because all I've been taking out lately are poetry books. They tend to be smaller in size than novels and it takes much less time to finish them. Hence why I've been taking them out instead of novels.
Today, I took out 9 books, 8 of which are poetry. When I am done my total books read for this year so far will be 47. I will definitely reach 50 books by the end of the year. And even surpass that number if I don't slack off and keep on reading.
I guess by taking out poetry books instead of novels, etc. I am cheating in a way... I wouldn't be able to have that many books read already had I been reading only novels and non-fiction books. But reading is reading, no matter what type of book it is...
I don't remember the last time I read that many poetry books. So, this reading challenge is helping me do that... And that's what counts!

50 books, and its poetry, wow. To think I can hardly finish two books in a day. I started reading Hurricane Bay by Heather Graham.

Well not all 50 books are poetry. But I've read (and with those yet to read) probably around 20 or so. Don't remember exact number.

Most of the poetry books I read have free-verse poems. Topics vary. I cannot recall the poems, so can't share them. But I can give you the titles of some of the poetry books I read.
