Working Out After Midnight, Would You?

Okay, I can't say it was a full work out, I did a few lunges and squats and a few stretches and tried to get the kinks out of my shoulders and neck. It was after midnight and I was keeping an eye on Daisy and then halfway through a squat I ended up asking myself "that's when I decide that it is a good time to get fit?" Lol!
Then I remembered that my cousin wakes up at 3 a.m every morning to go to the gym before work. His work is quite a distance from where he lives. So maybe it is not so crazy to do some jumping jacks after midnight!
Have you ever worked out after midnight or headed to the gym really really early in the morning? After the early hours of this morning I decided that personally I will be trying to keep fit at more normal hours throughout the day.

I don't think so. It seems like it would be really hard to sleep after a workout.

Yes, why not? If it works best for a person then that is what they should do.

@bluesa Someone in our family gets up at midnight for work but goes to the gym first. Some of us are just going to bed while others are heading out the door!

@PatZAnthony I really admire those that work night shifts. I might struggle to sleep but I could head to bed any time, whereas they have to stay awake

I walk to the train station at 6AM in the morning, is that early enough? (My daughter told me that from among the joggers whom I bumped into almost every morning, plenty of them happened to be teachers from the school closeby. In their late 50s, some have decided to exercise from 3AM or so, to the time they had to teach!!! That is insane according to my book, but then my book is about how to enjoy life and sleeeeeep... )

@bluesa My daughter pointed out a grumpy looking chemistry teacher who always sticks to that regime for years. (I have no way to confirm this of course. You can't try seeing joggers' face in the dark of the morning like that. Especially if she was there, she wouldn't wear respectable teaching gear while jogging would she? BUT the thought came to me, 'if she had to wake up at 3AM to go jogging like that for years, no wonder she always looked unhappy!' )

I don't know if I would work out after midnight, but up until a few years ago, I would work out late at night around 10:00 pm after I would get off work. I loved it, as it would help me unwind after a long day and also tire me out so I would fall asleep easier when I went to bed

And then life got insanely busy @moffittjc huh? I usually don't work out after midnight either. I hope you still manage to sleep well even without going to the gym.

@bluesa Actually, it got a little less busy! I don't work that late into the night anymore, so I can exercise at a decent hour now. I'm slowly trying to simplify my life so I have more time to actually enjoy it.

@bluesa yes that is true. aside from physical exhaustion, i must also be relaxed emotionally. so i am choosing to ignore whatever my sister rants about.

Nope! My workouts are at normal daytime/early evening hours, lol. They say workouts before bedtime makes it more difficult to get to sleep. I need my beauty sleep

I do like to work out late before bed. I am happy to hear that you do too! I thought I was the only person that was not a morning person!

The only work out I do at that time of night is to lift an eyelid to check the time! It is my day off today and yet I was still wide awake at 05:00.
