One crazy rental situation

I rented my house out in a rent to own situation. After a few months the tenants quit paying rent and wouldn't leave. When the utilities got cut off, the next door neighbors run power to them and so they wouldn't leave. They refused to stop providing power even though it was a hazardous situation and they were interfering with an eviction. I had to call the police to have them evicted.

As soon as they stopped paying I would have started eviction process. That would have been followed by calling the police to put them out as soon as I could. The power would not have made a difference.

The eviction process had involved a 30 day notice of non payment before I could file eviction. In that 30 days the unsafe power stringing allowed me to get an immediate eviction order

Bad experience for sure. Sorry that you had to go through this.

I am sorry to read this happened to you. It is a pity that good tenants do not get treated well by slum lords, but yet here you are with bad tenants not paying you rent.
