Dow drops 831 points!

This is the highest drop, in terms of straight points, in my lifetime. The worst of my lifetime, in terms of percentage was in October of 1987, which was a 500+ point plunge. I know I wouldn't have the stomach to "play the market"! Day trading and all that. Any 90+ year olds out there who were alive for the '29 crash?

No it's not the highest drop, you surely missed the biggest one-day point drop that came earlier this year. On February 5, the Dow fell 1,175.21 points.
