Being a proud “morena” or brown skinned takes a lot of effort. Brown skin doesn’t look good if it’s not healthy. So I keep mine shiny and well moisturised through body butters. I really invest on skin care. On the photo are two of my favourite body butters.
How do you guys take care of your skin?

Healthy diet, lots of fruits and vegetables, moderate exercise and lots of water...I do nothing more than that. I also make sure that I sleep well.

@arunima25 What you’ve suggested is not only good for the skin but for the whole body. And it shows in your nice skin.

@flapiz Thank you. I believe in dealing with root cause. Body butter is supposed to be good nourishment for skin.

In the Philippines, many women take medication to lighten their skin color. It is quite good to know that some women would rather keep their skin color and even be proud of it.

@flapiz I would just like to add, I have nothing against those who want to change the color of their skin. Nothing wrong with that (just make sure the procedure is safe).

@pinoycity Well we all have our preferences. And yes there’s nothing wrong with that. But it would also be great if we appreciate what we have cause other people actually want it.

You don’t use any skin care products? Since you’ve mentioned oily skin, do you get acne problems?

I drink lots and lots of water. That is probably the single best thing we can do to take care of our skin.

I don't have any skin routine. But I use Sebamed cream for my face when I feel like it's dull/dry.

Your skin looks amazing! Is it inborn or due to sebamed? Cause if it’s the latter, I’d start using sebamed where can I get it?

Are body butters the same as moisturizers or lotions. I love Body Shop though their products are quite expensive. But I believe so, because they are of good quality and effective.

@flapiz That is amazing. It shows on your picture. I have drops of youth exfoliant. I think it is by body shop

@yoalldudes Oh I heard great things about that product. Does it peel your skin drastically? Or is it micro peel?

Body butter is little heavy for my skin so i use body lotion and body yogurt. I drink lots of water throughout the day to keep my skin hydrated. I choose my skin care products according to my skin type, and change it as per weather. I use sunscreen everyday. At night i always clean my skin before going to bed.

@Rosain I also had sensitive skin while growing up and in my case I figured that moisturising helps clear out flare ups. But it’s true what you say. Every skin is different so management would vary. It’s good that you’ve established your skin care regime.

@flapiz no,i don't have a particular derma. The reason I'm serious about skincare is, i have quite reactive skin. So i have to take care of my skin.
I follow a dermatologist on Facebook and Twitter, and have a little contact with her through gmail. Her advice always helped me a lot.

That’s true Icy. Drinking lots of water does wonders to your skin.
