National Coming Out Day

@Mike197602 This is geared to the younger generation.Who are seeking help in which their familiar does not want to have anything to do with them.By coming out they will feel much better. I think you are getting away from the subject there.

@amadeo I'm not sure I'm getting away from the subject. What I am saying is that being a gay person is generally not so much of a big deal as it used to be. I accept that some families may be not great at dealing with a family member being gay but that's their issue. Having a coming out day, in my opinion, makes being gay a big deal...it isn't and goes further to promoting the gay "community"...there should not, again in my opinion, be a gay community there should be just community. Why highlight the fact you're (not you personally) a gay man??...just be a man and get the laws and respect etc that other men get...it's 2018 gays are mainstream.

@amadeo I think the gay thing may be an issue in some countries but in others, such as the UK, nobody cares.

@amadeo It seemed like things were moving in the right direction in that regard a couple of years ago, but with the rise of the religious right and the fascist evangelical movement, the nation seems to have taken giant leaps backward.
