Why do you think some people fail in their dating experience

I was talking to my sister yesterday and she was telling me about her supervisor's friend whom she match with one of her boyfriend's buddy. She said that his boyfriends buddy ask her to introduce a friend to him to be a potential partner. So my sister did and the two get to know each other through social media and phone texting. They even set up a date to see each other. Their first date went well.. Until they invited invited my sister, his boyfriend and my sister's supervisor (since he is also a friend) to have a group date. They ate together and visited nice place together. However on their second date the girl started acting weird. She became too clingy to the guy, she felt really close to him which made him uncomfortable. She also started holding him in his arms. Then my sister wanted to go home already because she had a work the next morning so she and her boyfriend ask permission to leave. But the girl still invited the guy to go and visit some place. So she thought the guy would agree and would be willing to stay. But unfortunately the guy also said the he is also going to work the next morning. But my sister knew he was making excuses cause he already said earlier that he will be off duty the next day so its okay for him to stay late. It seems like this guy suddenly lost interest with the girl he's dating. Then the guy kept apologizing to my sister and his boyfriend. Then my sister told him that he doesnt need to apologize, she said that she just introduced them to each other but its up to them to make it work. Then the guy suddenly said. " She was really okay in the beginning, she's cute and look presentable however she became too clingy and I didn't feel comfortable anymore, as if she is going to agree wherever I invited her to go." How about you guys? What are you opinions regarding their situation? Does most guy really get turned off when the girl becomes too close too soon?
