I bought this two.hamsters last May this year, a gift for my son. I wonder why this two hamsters doesn't reproduce So while I clean their cahe, I'm so afraid to touch them because it might bit me.. so i just observed them and look for their private parts and there it is, they are both female :-( It has been months that I believe that they are male and female since the petshop owner told me about their gender. Now , I want to buy a male hamster... it would be nice seeing some newborn hamsters .

@m_audrey6788 To sell their stuff. If the pet seller told the buyer that both are female, the buyer might not buy it or look for another place to buy hamsters.

Are they syrian or russian.... Syrian hamsters should not be kept on the same cage. They will kill each other.

What will you do with the hamster babies? Do you want to keep them? Don't forget that the 'babies' won't need long until they also start reproducing. Or do you already know people who will take all the hamster offspring from you? You should have satisfying answers to these questions before buying a male hamster.

Ohh, finally you know why they don't reproduce. I hope you can get the male one soon.

You can keep two females in one cage but males need to be kept by themselves or they will fight. I used to breed hamsters when I was in high school. You have to be very careful. Unless the female is in the right part of her reproductive cycle, she will kill the male. Never put them in the same cage. Let them check each other out on neutral ground. If she's ready, they'll mate. If the female does have babies you have to be very careful around them. If you surprise the mother, she will eat the babies.
