The heat has been turned on

It is 48 degrees F outside at the moment according to AccuWeather. The electronic weather station (which isn't working so well lately) says that it is 53. The bottom line is that it is COLD out there. That translates into a cold house inside since we've had the windows open for most of the day and only closed them just an hour or so ago. My husband usually likes to push off turning on the heat for as long as possible but even he seemed to understand that we were in a seriously cold situation. I didn't say anything and just layered up and went about my business. He went back and forth, up and down, between the thermostat in the hallway and the boiler in the basement. Eventually he reported to me that the heat was on and that I wouldn't freeze tonight. This may be a new record--Oct 12 and the heat is already on in the house!

I´m very sorry that you are heading to winter. I´m happy here even if it has been a somewhat chilly spring up to this moment.

We've had to have the heat on as well. It's getting pretty cool here.

It's going down to 43 tonight here, but our house is still warm inside at 68. I refuse to turn on the heat unless it's 43 inside the house.

My husband usually pushes off turning the heat on as long as possible so I was shocked that he did it last night without me saying anything

I totally understand as I sit here with a coat and blanket on. I have been looking longingly at that thermostat...I havent given in yet though. I think I will wait it out, in two days we will be back up to the mid 80's.

I wasn't expecting my husband to do it. He surprised the hell out of me by turning the heat on. Usually we go until almost November before it turns on.
